Batmon

BATMON is a microprocessor controlled DC voltage monitor, used to assess the condition of a vehicle’s battery whilst standing still on a showroom floor or in a workshop. By using a BATMON the vehicle batterys life can be extended as it can be recharged prior to the battery calcifying.

 

HOW TO USE:

· Determine that the vehicle cigar lighter socket is operational when the vehicle ignition is switched off. To do this plug in the BATMON and the LED will turn RED for one second and then GREEN for one second. This means that there is voltage present at the cigar lighter socket and that the BATMON has successfully passed the self-test.

· If there is no Voltage present then use the cigar to battery adaptor. Simply clip the battery clips onto the vehicles battery terminals observing the correct polarity. Plug the BATMON into the cigar socket provided. The BATMON will then perform the automatic self-test and provide peace of mind.

 

INDICATIONS

The BATMON will indicate for three different conditions:

 

· Voltage above 12.31V DC – Slow Green Flash

· Voltage between 12.31V DC and 12.045V DC – Slow Orange Flash

· Voltage between 12.04V DC and 11.77 V DC – Slow Red Flash

· Voltage below 11.77V DC – Fast Red Flash

 

Whilst the vehicle is standing idle, you will be able to see from the outside of the vehicle, the status of the battery. If the BATMON is flashing Orange or Red it is time to charge the battery.
