Glow Plug Analyser

The GLOW PLUG ANALYSER is used to test diesel glow plugs in the engine, without having to remove the glow plugs from the engine.

 

The Glow plug analyser is only to be used on 12 Volt DC Systems.

 

To use:

· Attach the Red Battery clamp to the positive terminal of the battery

· Attach the black battery clamp to the negative or ground terminal of the battery

· Remove the common rail or electrical connection from the glow plug

· Place the probe firmly on the top of the glow plug until the glow plug has warmed up. (typically between 3 & 20 seconds, check manufacturers specifications for details)

 

After the warm up period the Glow plug analyser will provide one of the following results:

 

     : Faulty Glow Plug (Short Circuit)

  : Faulty Glow Plug (Open Circuit)

 

>16A   : If glow plug draws 16A for more than 3 seconds there is a fault

 

<7A     : If Glow Plug draws less than 7A there is high resistance

 

OK       : The Glow Plug is functional

 

             : LOW BATTERY WARNING – The battery voltage of the battery being used is too low.

 

 

The Glow Plug Analyser saves the user time and gives a quick indication of the condition of each glow plug.
