The SP-12 is a surge protection unit, used to protect the vehicles electronic systems from voltage surges and spikes whilst working on a vehicle. It incorporates a microprocessor and transorb voltage clamping technology.
To use: · Connect the RED battery Clamp to the POSITIVE Battery terminal of the vehicle battery. · Connect the BLACK battery Clamp to the NEGATIVE Battery terminal of the vehicle battery. · Wait for the audible indication that the self-test has been successful. This is indicated by three short tones.
FEATURES
The SP-12 has a built in microprocessor, which every time it is connected to a battery, it performs a three stage self test.
This includes tests on the following:
· Spike detection circuitry · Fuse detection circuitry · Checking of the fuse
Three short tones indicate the completion of a successful test, and the user can work with confidence. Should any test fail, different tones will be emitted to indicate the type of failure. |
