Ultrasonic Leak Detector

Finding air, dust and water leaks around windscreen and door seals is a time consuming process.

 

The ULTRASONIC LEAK DETECTOR is a tool used to find areas of wind noise, dust and water leaks.

 

The kit comprises of two items, a transmitter unit (rectangular box) and the receiver unit. (This is in a probe format) 

 

To use the ULTRASONIC LEAK DETECTOR simply;

 

· Place the transmitter in the vehicle, correct side up and plug into the cigar lighter plug.

· Close all the doors and windows.

· Plug the headphones into the receiver probe and put them on.

· Push the switch forwards on the receiver to switch the receiver on.

· An audible slow ‘ticking tone’ will be heard.

· Move the receiver probe around the seals in the suspected area.

· As the receiver picks up the transmitted frequency, the ‘ticking tone’ will increase in frequency.

· The LED will also change colour.

· Once located, repair the fault, and retest.

· Remember to switch off the receiver probe when completed.

 

The ULTRASONIC LEAK DETECTOR SET allows workshop personnel to isolate problem areas that cause wind noise, water and dust leaks without a time consuming road test.
